Blindspin

About Blindspin & FAQ

Hear the hook. Not the hype. Blindspin helps little-known artists find new ears, one blind listen at a time.

Music first. Names later.

Blindspin is built for discovering underground talent rather than replaying chart hits. Artwork and names stay hidden while a short clip plays, so you can decide how the music feels before seeing who made it. No listener account or genre questionnaire is needed.

How does blind-swiping work?

  • Swipe left to skip and hear another song.
  • Swipe up to reveal the artist, title and artwork.
  • Swipe right to save the song. Playback continues when the provider’s stream allows it; swipe again to move on.
  • Swipe down before saving to put the song back into rotation for later.

Tap the center of the card to pause or play. Finishing the clip reveals the artist automatically. Saved music and your deck remain in this browser.

What are Heat, rarity and Wattage?

Heat reflects saves, reveals and completed listens, blending your local reactions with the community’s activity. Saves carry the strongest positive signal. Rarity combines in-app traction with outside obscurity data, with listener activity carrying more weight: silver is Basic, blue Common, purple Rare and gold Legendary.

An Underground Deck holds up to five saved tracks. Its Wattage is a 0–100 deck rating driven mostly by Heat, with a smaller contribution from rarity. The Crate Digger score rewards obscure finds and a full, artist-diverse deck. These are playful discovery signals, not payments or official industry rankings.

How do Champions work?

The Champions podium celebrates the three highest-ranked songs on two boards: This week and All time. Qualified saves and completed listens determine favorites; hidden gems use a smoothed save rate. Reveals are not votes. A podium requires at least 20 previews and 5 saves. Scores never drop below zero. The weekly period starts Monday at 00:00 UTC without resetting all-time popularity.

Will recommendations learn my taste?

Yes. Saves teach the strongest preference, full listens and reveals add lighter signals, and skips gently steer recommendations away. Every fifth music pick explores other genres. Ads do not count toward that cadence. Preferences stay in your browser; clearing site data starts you fresh.

Where do tracks come from?

Blindspin first reads its curated track catalog. If that is empty or unavailable, it discovers lesser-known music through Audius and Deezer. Provider metadata supplies artwork, genre tags, playback sources and available artist links. Availability depends on each provider and territory; not every track has a Spotify link.

I’m an artist. How can I get featured?

Make your music and public artist profile available through the supported providers, with accurate titles, artwork and genre metadata. Being available through a provider does not guarantee indexing or a featured spot; tracks must be reachable and suitable for discovery. Champions are earned through listener activity, not purchased music placement.

For artist indexing requests or support, email jarad.tokich@gmail.com. Include your artist name, provider profile, direct track links and confirmation that you control the relevant rights. Use the artist submission form for a private review. Reviewed artists can receive expiring management access after independent ownership verification. For copyright concerns, see the music and takedown notice.

Can I share my finds?

Yes. Build a five-track Underground Deck or share a mixtape of up to twenty saved songs. Friends can open the link, flip through tracks and hear available clips. Shared links currently support Deezer tracks; other providers may be omitted.

What about ads and privacy?

Ads appear between songs only when enabled and an active campaign is available. Music points are never affected by ad interactions. Brands can apply to advertise. Read the Privacy Policy for browser storage, anonymous statistics and third-party services.
